WHY ARE POWER DISTRIBUTION TRANSFORMERS USED?
The main purpose of a power distribution transformer is to step-up and step-down voltage in the power generation and distribution system. There are many functions of a power distribution transformer, however, its main purpose is to maintain the voltage power throughout during normal working conditions or power fluctuations. Some of its other functions are:
Used to reduce power losses during electric power transmission
Preferred in the case where the load is required to run at full capacity 24/7
Distribute power to remote areas generated from the power plants
Changes from high voltage electricity to low voltage electricity, used in homes and commercial establishments.
With the pace at which the Indian economy has been growing, the demand for various infrastructural assets has also been on the rise. One of the first requirements before any investment is considered is the supply of electricity continuously. Power Distribution Transformers are the nerve centre of power supply and distribution channels without which everything else will fall flat. Hence, companies engaged in the manufacturing and distribution of these devices are always hard-pressed to ensure every unit is made to meet the most stringent quality standards and can deliver the performance it’s meant to dispatch.
