Oil filled Transformers

 Out of all the transformers available at esennar, Oil filled transformers are the preferred choice owing to significant attributes like higher efficiency, low maintenance, longevity and high performance. They produce less noise making them suitable for use in any environment. However, they are preferred to be used for outdoor purposes as they pose the risk of a potential fire hazard due to oil spillage or leaks.

 


 Most of the high voltage transformers are preferred to be bathed in transformer oil and thus classified as oil filled transformers.  The oil used in an oil filled transformer is generally a highly refined mineral oil. This oil is stable even at high temperatures. Oil in a transformer works as a coolant agent and provides part of the electrical insulation between internal live parts. The oil will be stable at high temperatures so that even a small short circuit will not cause a fire. The main function of the oil is to remove heat from the core and coil.
